Conference participation and guest teaching in the Netherlands

I am currently in the Netherlands, disseminating my research and doing some teaching. On 6 June, I presented my work on socio-economic Rights as adaptive law at Leiden University’s Global Transformations and Governance Challenges (GTGC) conference on emerging trends in global governance, held in the Hague. Also in the Hague, I taught a guest lecture entitled “Mobilizing for spatial justice in a divided city: Ndifuna Ukwazi, Reclaiming the City and the City of Cape Town” in the course “Mobilizing Rights and Social Justice” at Erasmus University Rotterdam’s International Institute for Social Studies (ISS) on 12 June, and am today (14 June) co-offering a workshop entitled “Mobilizing for socio-economic rights through the courts” in the same course. Then, on 10 June, I presented an invited seminar on the African regional human rights system in the urban age, based on my recent publication in the Leiden Journal of International Law, for the Department of Public Law and Governance at Tilburg Law School
