My new article “Urban collectives as victims of international human rights violations” has just been published (in “advance online” form, and open access) in the European Journal of International Law. Looking at judgments from the ICJ and the regional human rights courts, it traces developments in, and considers the challenges of, representing, capturing and remedying harm suffered by urban communities collectively (in the course of armed conflict, environmental devastation or major calamities flowing from governance failure) in international human rights law.
