Marius Pieterse

I am currently participating in a virtual Expert Group Meeting on Inclusive Cities co-organised by UN Habitat, the Geneva Human Rights Platform of the Geneva Academy and the Geneva Cities Hub, in coordination with the office of the UN High-Commissioner for Human Rights. The meeting includes focused discussions on human rights mainstreaming within the domains of change in the UN Habitat Strategic Plan 2020-2023. The discussion centers around four position papers, dealing respectively with a human rights-based approach for dealing with inequality across rural-urban interfaces; a human rights-based approach to revenue sharing, connectivity and innovations; urban crisis prevention and response through a human rights lens; and a human rights-based approach to urban climate action.
