Marius Pieterse

I’m delighted to be joining the team responsible for the legal/regulatory response/human rights considerations chapter for the second edition of the Covid 19 Country Report jointly steered by the Government Technical Advisory Centre of National Treasury, the Department of Planning , Monitoring and Evaluation and the National Research Foundation of South Africa. The team has already finalised the first version of its report, and I look forward to working under coordination of NWU’s prof Elmien Du Plessis on the second edition. I hope to be able to contribute in relation to the role of urban local government in the pandemic response, as well as on the national response in the human settlements sector.
